Chopper / Spray-up Lamination
Open mold equipment for handling fiberglass and catalyzed resin
After the mold is gel coated, the mold is sprayed with a polyester resin and fiberglass. This structural laminate is built-up to the desired thickness. The fiberglass is “chopped” to the required length and speed of the chopper is regulated to give the selected glass to resin ratio.
Typical spray system output volume ranges from less than 10 lbs/minute (combined fiberglass and resin) for small parts to over 20 lbs/minute for large parts.
